Throwing up Thursday

Aaron, I believe is over the throw-ups.  :)  Natalie, however, just started.  :(  She woke me up right before 6 a.m. saying that she had thrown up.  And no folks, she did not make it to the bathroom the first time.  :(  She doesn't have fever either.  So that's a good sign.  They are both quarantined to their rooms with tv and resting.

Natalie just came in here and asked for something to eat...Wha????

Puking Wednesday

**Warning--yes this post comes with a disclaimer--Don't read if you have a weak stomach.**
Right before I left school early today at 3:20 to take the kiddos to Cook Elementary to get their H1N1 flu shots, Heather vented about her day.  She said that two of her students had left early because of vomiting. They had to use my classroom while my class was gone Christmas caroling to our partners in ed because of the vomit in her room.  So I listened and sympathized and said that it was fine they used my room.  Anyway we left.  While on the interstate, crossing over Rogers Avenue, Aaron informed me that his stomach hurt.  I asked him if it was pain hurt or sick hurt.  Secretly hoping that it was pain hurt and maybe he was just hungry or needed to go to the bathroom.  Nope, it was sick hurt.  I asked if he needed to throw up and he said I just can't talk.  As we were getting off the interstate on Hwy 71, I asked if he needed to throw up and Natalie started yelling, "He's throwing up right now!!"  Needless to say I pulled over, pulled him out of the car and he threw up some more in the grass behind the car.  :(  poor guy.  There was vomit everywhere! In the car ALL across the backseat, on his pants, backpack, lunchbox, his snowman paper (which we left on the side of the road because it fell out of the car when I helped him out--I know it's littering, but it was wet with you-know-what), my pants, his shoes, and the grass.  EW!  We went home and he threw up again.  He took a bath and threw up again.  I cleaned out the car. When I got out his backpack I set it on the ground in the garage.  Now Aaron had had a bologna sandwich for lunch, so there were chunks of bologna all over the place, including on his backpack.  Well when I set it down, the cat came over while I was cleaning the seats and floormats and ate the bologna off his backpack.  So the cat may be throwing up soon.  Who knows?
He's taking a nap right now.  He doesn't have any fever.  I've checked twice.  Thankfully Tommy came and took Natalie so that she could go ahead and get the shot.
Now I'm going to miss that wonderful Christmas breakfast that Mrs. Boone is going to have at school in the a.m.   I just hope Aaron feels better.
I took a break there for a second, I heard Aaron get up.  He was in the bathroom for a third time since we got home.  :(  Then he had some diarrhea.  :(  Now he's laying down watching a movie.  I better get off here and keep checking on him.

High School Reunion

For those of you that don't know, I went to my high school reunion on Saturday night.  I can't believe I am getting that old.  The next day Macy posted some pics on Facebook.  This was one of them.  This one is from our Junior Prom.
I enjoyed talking to people that I haven't seen in 10 years.  Some I have seen since then, but only see them rarely.  So it was a good time.

What a day, what a day

Today started out like any normal Thursday.  I mean I got out of bed and got into the shower then went and woke up the kids when I got dressed.  That's where the similarities end.  Aaron was quite a little "bucket dipper" today.  He called his sister names and didn't want to put socks and shoes on in time this morning.  He was pretty quiet about his antics though.  Of course Natalie was quick to report her brother's bad behavior.  When she came running into the bathroom to "report" the namecalling.  I couldn't help but laugh.

Natalie:  Mom!  Aaron called me the "B" word!  I just asked him to put his chips in his lunchbox, because I was trying to help him put his sandwich in his baggie...and he just called me a "B" word!

Me:  The "B" word?  (surely Aaron doesn't know the "B" word, right?)  What's the "B" word?

Natalie:  *whispering* yeah, you know B-U-T-H-O-L-E

Me:  (Anyone who knows me, knows that misspelled words are a pet peeve.  However, I overlooked the spelling lesson in this situation.  Go me.  :)  I'm giggling at this point.

Natalie:  *whining now because I'm laughing*  MOOOOMMMM!!!

Me:  Okay *giggle*  I'll talk to him about it.

So Aaron and I had a little chat about being nice to people we love, especially sisters.

So then we got to school.  Jenna and Heather were both absent today.  :(
Mrs. Boone came to my room and alerted me that Jenna's sub was only available for the morning and that there were no more subs in the district.  Soooooo.....All of first grade was in my room this afternoon.  A few modifications and adjustments and we rocked some character development.  :)  Mrs. Boone did my recess duty.  (Bless her soul)  Then Mrs. Nolte volunteered to come in my room and do some crowd control while Kindergarten was in the library.  So Yay!  The kids were a little wound up because there were so many teachers out of the building today.  Then we had the atten 'dance'.  Which I wasn't involved in, but 8 kids did go to the tornado shelter for 30 min this afternoon.  :)

Also, can I just say that I don't know how Corrie talked me into doing this after school tutoring thing?  Wow, there is a LOT of paperwork!  There is a form for EVERYTHING!  Finally made it home with a headache and decided not to cook anything.  Since my kids got to attend the atten'dance' they got chick fil a coupons.  :0)  So we went there....only to find out that it was Woods Elementary's Fundraising night.  There was a line all the way around the building! LoL We stayed and ate though.  Had to sit at different tables, but we ate there.

Multimedia message

I had to add a pic to check how that works too. :)

Halloween Come and Gone.

All right people! I cannot believe how much time has passed since I last blogged. Seriously I was thinking about it yesterday. I know that the last couple of posts have been about how long it's been yadda, yadda, yadda... But seriously folks, I checked my camera to see if I had any recent photos to put with this post and OMG! I have TONS of photos that have been on my camera FOREVER! I mean, I am ashamed to say this, but I have last year's Christmas pictures still on the camera....Not on the computer. Not ordered. Not looked at. Wow.
So, I'm turning over a new leaf. I mean it this time. I even got my phone involved. I can now blog from my phone. I have no excuses left.
Yesterday when I was thinking of reasons I haven't been blogging. I think I need a bulleted list here:
  • A LOT has happened since the last time I blogged.
  • There are people no longer in my daily life that I have blogged about
  • It's hard for me to read the posts with those people in them
  • I thought about deleting those posts, but after talking to friends about it they said it's my life... you can't delete what has happened.
  • So much has happened I don't know where to start with posting

So quick update for you guys (those of you who don't know):

  • Aaron and Natalie are going to school at Morrison with me. :)
  • I have been dating Casey since January.
  • I just bought a new car.
  • I'm still teaching first grade.

I'm sure there's more....but one step at a time....

Mother's Day

I commit to posting, and yet time gets away from me.

So I went to pick up the kids from Tommy on Sunday at 9 am for Mother's Day. When they opened the door they were grinning from ear to ear. Behind their backs were my mother's day gifts that I was really not expecting. They had picked out flowers, a movie (Twilight), a scentsy car freshener (which they actually claimed Mary Jane slipped in the bag), and a card. I told them thank you and even texted Tommy and Mary Jane both to thank them for the gifts. I even cried a little because my kids were so excited to tell my about going to Wal-Mart to pick it all out.

Then we went to Nana's house to wish her Happy Mother's Day. We got there so early (around 9:20) that she wasn't awake. We woke her up. Then after she got ready we went to lunch with my sister and my niece.

After lunch we came home and the kids helped me with laundry. :)

USB Cable and other stuff

I took some pics of Natalie dressed as a hippie on Friday. They filled their token jar and for their reward all the kids in her class got to dress as hippies. :) A lot of fun except I had to figure out how to dress her as a hippie when she told me around 7:15 the night before. Not a lot of planning time!

I would post these fabulous pics, except I can't find the USB cable to transfer the pics from my camera! I know that I put it in a place where I knew I would be able to find it later. I just don't remember where that place is. I have looked high and low, but without any luck. Maybe I'll be able to find it soon. Keep your fingers crossed.

Well since I don't have any pics to post, I'll tell you about my last read. He's Just Not That Into You by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. This book is hilarious! I laughed out loud on several occasions. Each chapter ends with a list of "What you should have learned in this chapter," and "Our Super-good Really Helpful Workbook." This book was loaned to me by best friend, who has already texted me and asked if I've been "following the rules in the handbook." LoL Anyway, if you're looking for a good laugh ladies, this is it!

Friday Night

So here it is Friday again. Natalie has Sela spending the night, and Josh is spending the night with Aaron. As I sit here, I can hear the boys from Aaron's room talking and the girls listening to one of their recitals from 3 years ago. The boys were watching Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but I had to turn it off. I think they were trying to be the Silver Surfer in there. They were so loud and they were banging on the wall. LoL Boys will be boys, right?

Meanwhile... The girls took a bath in the whirlpool tub for over an hour. Right before they got in the tub there was some conversation...

Natalie: Mom's bathroom is so cool.

Sela: I know. I love it! It's so big!

Natalie: I wish my bathroom was this big.

Sela: I just wish I lived here.

Natalie: Me too. (pause) Oh wait, I do!

Then giggles from both girls.
Seriously sometimes I think Natalie really is blonde. But at least now I know she actually likes living here. :) Even though last week she was ready for a new dad, since apparently it's too boring here with just her brother and myself.

Bath and a Book

So since I've started back, it's best not to quit now. Blogging that is. :) After a long day in a meeting yesterday with teacher brains buzzing I spent an entire evening with a considerable amount of weight on my shoulders. I felt overwhelmed, eager to change, and ready to rearrange; but still didn't know what to apply. Even trying to write about it, I feel like I don't know how to put it into words. Well, enough about my school.
So Natalie has decided that she no longer wants to go to Cook. She informed all the teachers yesterday when she went to school with me. She misses her friends and wants to go back where I will be in the building with her. I would like the same, but I'm concerned about Aaron being in the same building with me. Next year he will start Kindergarten and if I bring Natalie back to Morrison with me then of course Aaron would come too. I don't know if that is the ideal situation for him. I think he depends on Natalie and I too much. So now I'm at an impasse. What to do? With all this on my mind I think I need a long, hot bath and a good book.

My how the time flies by....

Ok...Ok...
I haven't posted in so long that I forgot my password. I almost gave up. I even had to switch my email address because I don't have access to the old one anymore. I also realized my blog is in dire need of a makeover. Makeover will come as soon as I have more time. I noticed that my last post was waaaaaay back right after school started. Just goes to show how hectic life can get during the school year.
Quick update...
Natalie has a lead role in her performance in June. She will be one of the brothers in Beauty and the Beast. She's not thrilled about her part, (she wanted to be a sister.) But is excited nonetheless. Aaron is going to start T-ball soon. I can't believe the boy is almost 5 and going to start Kindergarten this year. :( But T-ball will make for some fantastic pics. :)
This post should get me off the bottom of the blog reel.
